Common washer problems we fix
A washing machine that will not drain, spin or fill can usually be fixed in one visit. Our technician checks the drain pump, water inlet valve, belt, door lock and control board, gives you a fixed price, and repairs it on the spot with parts from the van. We repair Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, GE, Maytag, Kenmore, Bosch and every other major washer brand.
Washer not draining
Water stays in the drum after the cycle, or the washer stops mid-cycle. The usual causes are a clogged pump filter, a kinked drain hose or a failing drain pump. We clear the blockage or replace the pump and test a full drain.
Not spinning
The motor runs but the drum will not spin, or spin is weak and clothes come out soaking. Typically a worn drive belt or motor coupling, a faulty lid switch or a control problem. We find which and replace it.
Leaking water
Water on the floor during a cycle comes from the door seal, a cracked drain hose, loose inlet fittings or a worn tub seal. Shut off the water supply and call — we trace the source and replace the failed part.
Shaking or banging
Violent shaking or banging in spin usually means an unbalanced load or unlevel feet; if it persists, worn shock absorbers or suspension rods are to blame. A roaring noise points to the tub bearings.
Door will not open
A door that stays locked after the cycle is commonly a drain issue keeping the lock engaged, or a failed door-lock assembly. We drain the machine safely and replace the lock if needed.
Will not fill or start
No water coming in, or the washer will not start at all? Check the taps first. Beyond that it is a clogged inlet screen or a failed inlet valve, a faulty door/lid switch or the control board.

$99–299
Drain Pump Replacement (won't drain)$199–249
Water stays in the drum after the cycle, or you hear humming or grinding from the bottom. We test the pump, clear any blockage and replace the pump if it has failed.
Water Inlet Valve (won't fill)$199–249
The washer fills slowly, overfills or does not fill at all. We test the valve solenoids and screens, then replace the valve.
Motor Control Board$199–249
The washer is dead, shows error codes or behaves randomly. We test the board and its connections before replacing it.
Drive Belt Replacement$99–199
The drum does not turn or spins weakly while the motor runs. A worn or snapped belt is replaced and the drum alignment is checked.
Door Boot Seal / Gasket (front load)$199–249
Water leaks from the front door or there is mould and a damp smell. We replace the torn or worn rubber seal and clean the surround.
Lid Switch / Door Lock Assembly$99–199
The washer will not start, or the door will not lock or unlock. We test and replace the faulty switch or lock.
Shock Absorbers (loud vibration)$199–249
The washer shakes or walks across the floor during spin. Worn dampers are replaced and the machine is levelled.
Suspension Rods (top load banging)$199–249
A top-load washer bangs or the tub hits the cabinet on spin. We replace the worn rods or springs and rebalance the tub.
Agitator Dogs Replacement$99–199
The agitator does not move or clicks without turning the clothes. The worn dogs are replaced.
Tub Bearing Replacement (major)$199–299
A loud roaring or rumbling noise during spin means the bearings have failed. This is a larger job — we quote it before starting.
Spider Arm Assembly (front load)$199–299
A front-load drum that is rusted, wobbling or very noisy usually has a corroded spider arm. We replace it and the related seals.
Water Level / Pressure Switch$99–199
The washer overfills, underfills or stops mid-cycle. We test the switch and the air hose, then replace the faulty part.
Shift Actuator Replacement$179–249
The washer will not switch between wash and spin on some top-load models. The actuator is replaced and the cycle tested.
Motor Coupling Assembly$99–199
The motor runs but the drum or agitator does not move, often with a burning-rubber smell. The coupling is replaced.
Clutch Assembly$199–249
The washer agitates but does not spin, or spins too slowly. We replace the worn clutch.
Timer Assembly Module$179–249
Cycles do not advance or the washer stops in the middle of a cycle. We test the timer and replace it if faulty.
User Interface / Touchpad Board$179–249
Buttons do not respond or the display is blank or garbled. The touchpad or display board is replaced.
Drain Hose Replacement$99–199
Water leaks near the back of the washer or drains slowly. We replace the cracked or kinked hose.
Coin Trap / Filter Clearing$99–199
Poor drainage or a bad smell from a clogged pump filter. We clear the filter and flush the drain path.
Tub Seal Replacement$179–249
Water leaks from underneath the washer during the cycle. We replace the worn tub seal.

Frequently asked questions
How much does washing machine repair cost in Toronto?
Most washer repairs cost between $99 and $299 in labour. Drain pump and water valve jobs are usually $199–249, belts and lid switches $99–199. The $0 diagnostic is applied when you go ahead with the repair.
Why is my washer not draining?
The usual causes are a clogged drain pump or filter, a kinked drain hose or a failed pump motor. We test each one and confirm the price before we replace anything.
Is it worth repairing a washing machine?
If the washer is under 10 years old and the repair is less than half the price of a new one, repair is normally the better value. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
Why is my washing machine leaking?
Common sources are a worn door boot seal, a loose or cracked drain hose, a failing inlet valve or a damaged tub seal. Turn off the water supply and call us — we can usually come the same day.
What do washer error codes like 5C, OE or UE mean?
Codes differ by brand, but the common ones are: 5C/5E (Samsung) and OE (LG) — the washer cannot drain; 4C/4E and IE — a water-supply problem; UE — an unbalanced load; LE — a leak or locked motor. Tell us the code when you book and the technician brings the likely parts.
Why does my washer shake or bang during the spin cycle?
Usually an unbalanced load or unlevelled feet. If it keeps happening, the shock absorbers (front-load) or suspension rods (top-load) are worn, and a loud roaring noise points to the tub bearings.
